MINUTES
Volunteers Educating for Food Allergies (VEFA)
September 12, 2009

Date and Time: An administrative meeting of VEFA was held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.

Treasurer’s Report: Current available funds $163.65. Minor revenue and expense changes have been posted; mostly bank interest and fees.

Future Meetings & Event Planning:
Trunk & Treat Saturday October 31, 2009. Dr. Singer will inquire if it can be held at A&AA’s Cross Park Office parking lot in West Knoxville. Participants can decorate and park car, offer non-food treats, and activities. There will be children’s costume contest and trunk decorating contest.

Spring Symposium: Becky Burnett will work to secure a date in the spring at ETCH for symposium.

Fantasy of Trees: VEFA will donate a small decorated item to the Fantasy of Trees. Becky will check with ETCH on the process.

Next administrative meeting will be held on Saturday November 14, 2009 at 1 pm. Group will try to have the meeting at Gluten Free Goodies.

Medical advisors have been posting to the website and recipes are being added by members. President and Secretary will work toward transferring the email from yahoo to website mail.

Other Business: President will work with Courtney Niemann and Carrie McSpadden who are interested in developing a Facebook page for VEFA. President will also check the status of brochure and business card printing with Ashley Garren.

Adjourn: There being no other business the meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.

Sprite cupcakes

I found this one at church last night. Elijah is allergic to eggs, milk, and peanuts. He can have the duncan hines moist deluxe. One of my deacons said he makes cupcakes by adding a can of diet sprite to his mix-thats it! I will try it and let you know what I think!

Trunk or Treat for Food Allergic Kids!

Before you go trick or treating this Halloween, bring your little monsters, devils, angels and fairies to a party just for them!

Halloween

When: October 31st  1-3 pm

Where: The parking lot at 9017 Cross Park Drive (click here for directions)

Bring: A decorated trunk with non-food, or individually labeled nut-free goodies (enough for 20-30 kids)

There will be prizes for the best costumes and the best trunk decor so drop by for a ghoulish good time!
